Our Mission and Core Values

At Discovery Village, our mission is to nurture a community where every child learns, grows, and is loved. Guided by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, we see children as capable, curious, and creative learners who thrive through exploration, relationships, and meaningful connections. Together with families, we cultivate wonder, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning

We believe children grow strongest when they are trusted. We honor their ability to choose, try, and learn from real outcomes. This value asks us to step back when children can step forward, and to take ownership of our own work with the same confidence we hope to build in them.

We are a reflective school community. We slow down, ask questions, and look beneath the surface. As educators, we guide children to problem-solve and persist, and we hold ourselves to that same standard. We do not chase quick fixes. We look for thoughtful solutions that support long-term growth.

Respectful communication is the foundation of trust here. We listen fully, speak with kindness, and handle concerns directly and professionally. This value means we protect our culture from gossip, stay open to feedback, and model for children what it looks like to be honest and caring in relationships.

Compassion is how we keep children safe and help each other feel supported. We respond with empathy and patience, especially in hard moments. As Discovery Village employees, we assume positive intent, offer help when it is needed, and hold boundaries with warmth and respect.

We are a team, and our school belongs to all of us. This value asks every employee to take pride in our shared environment and to support the larger mission, not just one classroom. We keep spaces clean and inviting
