Playground
In the summer of 2021 we doubled the size of our playground and began our creation of a natural playground where our children can continue developing their gross & fine motor skills, social-emotional skills and academic curiosity through exploration. The playground is a work in progress and the next things we are going to add are planters of ornamental grasses that will change with the seasons.
We have a music and movement area, a toddler play area with toddler sized, mud kitchens, exploration table and sensory table. Scattered throughout the area are a cascading water table, mud kitchen, raised garden (which we are growing vegetables for our children), a chalk area, a gross motor area that consists of “balance beams” which are made from a small tree we needed to remove to expand the playground, a sandbox, a clear top exploration table and a building area with natural tree discs.
